Crawling all over already…

He’s crawling everywhere now.  That was quick.

He crawled all the way to the kitchen and all the way back.  I didn’t get it all on video, but here’s a couple of clips of it.

He really wanted his CD player :)

Half Month Update…

IMG_5023

 IMG_5026

He’s changing so fast that I thought I’d do an update in the middle of the month instead of waiting until the 8th month mark.

First of all, as you can tell, he likes to put his paci back in his own mouth ;)  Silly boy.

Like the last video said, he can crawl in all directions.

He gets from lying on his stomach to sitting up.

He can stand while holding onto Mommy or Daddy.

He is liking eating a lot better.

Favorites include:  bananas, pears and butternut squash.

Least favorites include:  any cereal.

He now eats:  bananas, pears, butternut squash, yams, peas, carrots, apples, rice cereal and oatmeal.

He is still the favorite baby at his daycare.  When he shows up all the kiddos, say “Yay, Collin’s here!!!! Collin’s here!”  (This is true.  We aren’t sure what makes them like him so much, but it’s fun).

He has started to figure out how to grab onto those tiny little specks on the carpet.

He really likes the knobs on the entertainment center, and the power cords.

He is a talker.  He growls and squeals and babbles all day long.

He has figured out that if he bangs two of his toys together, they make a cool sound.

His sleeping is not consistent, but we are getting more nights where he’ll sleep from 11-12 to 5-6.  Little steps.

He rides in the back of the car by himself.  (More for Mom’s sanity than because he was completely ready, she was getting claustrophobic in the back.)  But, he’s doing okay with it.

Crawling Forward…

So after Chompy started crawling backward we asked his teachers to not tell us if he started doing anything new so that when he did it at home, we could be surprised.  Well, today, he showed Momma that he can crawl forward.  Who knows how long he’s really been doing it, but we are excited for him!   He’s pretty tentative still, but did it multiple times this morning. :)

7 Months Old…

Little Chomp is 7 months old today!!

Happy 7 month birthday Chompy!!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this month:

Rocking and taking one tentative move with our hands towards crawling forward

Moving backward, side to side, and R---E----A---C---H---I---N---G for toys

Climbing over pillows, toys, mom and dad

Saying “baaa”, “maaa”, “daaaa” often

Continuing to teethe (no sign of teeth yet though)

Learning to like rice cereal, oatmeal, and pears

Not liking veggies ;)

Starting to hold my own bottle

Thinking drinking water from a cup is sooo fun!

Protesting when Mommy or Daddy stops playing with me.

Lots of hikes in the backpack

Lots of visiting family and friends

Learning to put myself to sleep in my crib without (much) protesting

Reading stories with Mom and Dad

Liking my baths in the big bathtub

Still jumping

Wearing size 6-9 months clothes

Here’s the monthly bear pictures!
