Mmmmm snacks…

image

If you are ever looking for something to get for Chompy, he and his parents say “here you go guys” to these awesome products.  So, it’s hard to find snacks that are healthy, portable, and not just grains, for toddlers.  But, a few very smart organic baby food makers have figured out how to put fruit (and veggies) in a pouch (think fruit capri-suns).  Anyway, Chompy literally INHALES these!  He’ll stop to say “mmmmmm” and then keep going until he’s done.  But, even on sale, they are still $1 a piece.  So, if you happen to see them on sale, or have an urge to buy Chompy a little gift, these are a great idea ;)

The brands are:  Ella Organics, Revolution Foods, Peter Rabbit Organics, Plum Organics :)

Nature Boy…

He was in heaven on our hike today.  Sticks, leaves, rocks and acorns.  What else does a boy need?

New…

Chompy is learning so fast these days that I feel the need to write down more frequently what he is doing because it changes every day.

So here are the new words:  “light” and “book” with the “k” now  (new phrases:  “more please”, “all done”, “thank you”)

New signs:  butterfly, pig, cat, baby, frog, cracker

New things he knows: bellybutton, toes, nose, head, how to nod his head

He also will actually drive his cars around, instead of just watch them go when we push them (of course complete with engine sounds).

And, on Thursday, I thought that this may be a good time to start introducing new foods again as he is feeling better and we are in a routine…which meant, I was going to try my hardest not to give him any raviolis ;)  Well, today it worked.  He ate three complete meals with no raviolis.  I’m sure that he will continue to love those little Italian yumminess just like his mommy, but maybe he won’t need them every day :)

Bruins…

In honor of the game this evening, Chompy is wearing his UCLA shirt.

Come on Chompy, you know you wanna be a 4th generation Bruin right, right? ;)

A joyful water bug!

Chompy is now:

Saying- Momma, Dadda, Daddy, Hi, Bye Bye, Uh Oh, Whoa, Done, More, 1-2-3 Go.

Signing-Hi, food, more, milk, dog, bird, all done, bunny, light, fan, pacifier

liking to point out but can’t quite speak or sign about:  light switches, babies, books, shoes.

Running all over the place.

Watering the plants outside and using the hose and the watering can.

Reading-he now has a new found love of books and will sit in our laps and read them over and over and over again.  He especially likes pointing out the animals that he knows.

He’s starting to be able to point to body part like when asked “chompy where’s your head?”

Willing to wave and say hi to anyone, anywhere.  Today, for example, the clerk at Costco gave him his own receipt with a smiley face because he was so interested in them and smiley, and then he got a fortune cookie from the chinese restaurant we went to (no, he didn’t get to eat his present).

He’s becoming a little more willing to try different foods, but would prefer to continue to eat marinara sauce on all of it.

He’s very fun, energetic and enjoyable.  He’s also becoming more snuggly and able to have calm periods throughout the day. YAY!

He’s also on a consistent nap and sleep schedule and is doing great.  No more night feedings or waking up.  Next up—sleeping in later ;)  actually, he does pretty well!

We love him soooooo much and he’s so fun to parent!
