9 Month Pediatric Appointment…

IMG_5244

Chompy had his 9 Month Well-baby check today with Dr. Smith.

Little Guy is right on track with his development.  YAY!

He weighs 17 pounds, 13 ounces  which puts him in the 10th percentile.  He has dropped in his weight gain compared to other kiddos his age, but his doctor isn’t too worried about it.

He is 28 1/2 inches long, which puts him in the 50th percentile.

He also gets to be a lucky little fella and take iron drops after his blood test showed that he was on the low side with his hemoglobin levels (apparently this is really common with breastfed babies).

And, FYI, babies usually get teeth between 6-10 months, but our pediatrician’s kiddos didn’t get them until they were a year.  I guess maybe God didn’t forget to give him teeth after all.

The funniest part was that we had a little bit of a wait before we could go in.  Chompy, as usual, was very social with everyone in the waiting area, smiled and babbled at all the other kids, and got multiple adults to stop to talk with him.  We have been practicing waving at home and we didn’t think that he had started to do it yet, until he started flapping his whole arm today at another little baby, who was just learning how to do it too. :)  Silly boy!

Mommy and Daddy are so excited that he is now cleared to eat pretty much everything but cow’s milk, and table food.   Stay tuned because our family’s favorite meal,  Veggie Tacos, is on tonight.  We’ll let you know how he does!

Oh and, he is soooo fast at cruising around the furniture now and will stand alone for a few seconds.

  1. His daddy walked at 10 months, so Chompy probably won't be far behind.
